Liberty Memorial Building

The Liberty Memorial Building is located on the North Dakota State Capitol grounds.

It was completed in 1924, and is the oldest building still standing on the capitol grounds. It is home to the North Dakota State Library.

It is reputedly haunted by something curiously referred to as the "Stack Monster" which stalks the hallways of this old building.

Reported effects include the apparition of a male wearing a white shirt; an unwelcoming feeling; the sounds of coughing, voices and footsteps; and dogs reacting to something unseen.

Pictured left is an painting of the building as it once appeared.
